Persistence, known limits and historical tests

Separate stored state, missing mechanics, historical fixes and the proposed T01–T10 test plan.

Beyond the Overworld 0.0.1-p0Java 1.21.1NeoForge

These guides describe the October 23, 2026 development version. The older download with the same version number is missing later features.

Report-derived schematic for persistence and limits; the steps and caveats are explained in the article

Explanatory diagram based on the cited report; not an in-game interface or a spatial construction plan.

Explicit limits

  • Autopilot plans do not survive restart; the ship hovers. General large-obstacle avoidance is not established.
  • Ship rooms do not have separate power/life-support simulation.
  • Batteries accept/output on all faces; per-face settings are absent.
  • Recycler support is limited; universal recycling is absent.
  • A named researcher NPC has no supported functioning dedicated research service merely because lore mentions one.
  • Colossus victory does not create its planned corpse sculpture; Tide Sovereign victory does not lower the central bridge.
  • Positionless tidal calculations use noon; NPC ships are not wind-pushed. Planetary client-wind enforcement has limits.
  • Resource models, localization and templates are not registered/obtainable item counts. Loot rolls and all binary structures were not reconstructed.

Old comments can predate later gates, guards, weapons or endings; they are not sufficient evidence that a later wired system is missing.

Admin & server owner reference

Exact identifiers, original fields and source locators are preserved below. These records describe the documented mod version; they are not commands to run or proof of a new gameplay test.

What is stored where

BoundaryExamples
Item componentsHarness reserves, Batteries, packed ships, contamination and upgrades
Player attachments / ledgersResearch, discovery, Gear, quests, outbreak health, anomaly knowledge and diagnosis
World / regional SavedDataUniverse bindings/locks, stations, settlements, boss records, Shelf regions and outbreak sources/burden
Reserved dimensionsSurface slots, ship interiors, station interiors and Event Shelf
Network payloadsTravel/input, navigation, HUD, quests, UI actions and facility markers

The report traces 43 registered modules into entry-point wiring. This supports a static implementation claim; it does not prove every reconnect, reward transaction or server-only behavior works.

Historical observations

An October 12 Intel Mac playtest recorded a stuck ship, failed landings, missing on-foot descent and scan gaps. The project then records Wave 21 fixes. Neither that history nor reported compile/harness successes establishes a new passing game session or a matching October 5 JAR. Historical 1.6–2.3× generation improvements are not current performance guarantees.

Proposed validation, not completed tests

TestWhat remains to demonstrate
T01Build/package current source; verify new metadata and hash plus quest/outbreak loading
T02Fresh survival bootstrap, Scout, launch, land and return
T03Repeated/on-foot landing and disconnect/restart transfer recovery
T04Suit drains, modules, sealed/leaking habitats and underwater support
T05Two-player ownership, packing refusal, docking, trades and atomic rewards
T06Main dependencies, fallbacks, confirmations, exclusivity and aftermath
T07Facility chains, damaged buildings, trams and resident navigation
T08Outbreak eligibility, exposure, cargo, safe havens and S1–S6 recovery
T09Weapons, asteroids, capture, station restoration and Shelf travel with crew
T10Slot exhaustion, revisits/restarts, long-session profiling and dedicated server behavior

These are the report’s proposed checks. Wiki check/test/build commands validate the website, never these Minecraft results. No game, server, Gradle or supplied mod script was run during preparation.
