Prison Gate ruins and civic maps
Use Land Survey to understand claims around you. A Prison Gate ruin leads somewhere very different from an ordinary town destination.

Find a Prison Gate ruin
The Overworld Prison Gate ruin’s lock accepts a gold block for a timed 3-minute prison entry by default. This is a rescue/intrusion route, not ordinary free travel.
Search eligible newly generated terrain, including forests, taiga, savanna, badlands and hills, plus the listed plains, meadow, desert, snowy plains, windswept hills and stony peaks. The placement grid uses 48-chunk spacing and 20-chunk separation, but does not guarantee a gate at a fixed walking distance. Old generated terrain is not filled retroactively; historical normal-superflat tests did not naturally place these ruins.
The Prison Gate is an exploration and rescue site. It does not add a general-purpose resource world or a new ore or crop family.
What a Prison Gate looks like

The prison dimension
The Penitentiary contains a generated custody complex, not structure-NBT adventure rooms or a biome ecosystem. It has fixed noon, a flat void generator and 48 cells. Rebuild moves to a fresh slot and leaves old slots in the void; automatic old-region deletion is not built. See prison life.

Historical J1 Penitentiary view; layout varies by seed and rebuild. The Overworld ruin and prison complex are separate locations, not two new general-purpose dimensions.
Read civic maps
Built-in Land Survey handles local claims/plots without an external map mod. Optional version-limited adapters show town fills, nation outlines and optional spawn markers. Map changes update at most once every 5 seconds by default.
Camps default hidden. External snapshots intentionally omit treasury balances, room leases, plot ownership/details and the prison dimension; web popups escape player-selected text. Keep those privacy boundaries when requesting additional map views. Map mods are not bundled, and the inspected BlueMap/squaremap pair had a library conflict.

Exact settings and original wording
Random-spread placement uses 48-chunk spacing, 20-chunk separation, salt 731842913, beard-thin terrain adaptation and a biome eligibility tag. These describe a placement grid, not a guaranteed gate at a fixed walking distance. Eligible families include forests, taiga, savanna, badlands and hills, plus listed plains, meadow, desert, snowy plains, windswept hills and stony peaks. New placement needs newly generated eligible chunks; old generated terrain is not retroactively filled. Historical normal-superflat tests did not automatically place this set.
