Pigeons, letters and parcels
Set up a receiving address, care for your birds and check the destination before sending a letter or parcel.

Establish a receiving endpoint
Craft a Carrier Cage for personal mail, Town Dovecote for a town address or Royal Dovecote for a nation address in its capital. Recipes are in the crafting index. Adjacent cages of the same kind and owner share their birds/mail. Defaults are 64 pigeons and 54 letters per cage.
A carried personal cage remembers a position, including its holder’s last seen place. Only the keeper/managing authority can pick up or upgrade the cage or remove held mail/items. Authorized breaking returns a record-linked item retaining state.
Find, tame and breed birds
Wild pigeons spawn in groups 2–4, weight 8, in plains, sunflower plains, meadow, savanna, forest, flower forest, birch forest and cherry grove. Their baseline is 4 HP, ground speed 0.2, flying speed 0.4. Seeds tame with a 1-in-5 attempt in the reported interaction path.
Catch your tame bird into a cage; cage controls also collect owned nearby birds within 8 blocks. Captured birds stack to 16 only when color/components match. Breeding defaults to a pair, 8 seeds and 20 minutes.

Address and send a letter
Use the cage/mail interface to select an actual receiving endpoint, write up to 256 characters and attach up to 9 stacks by default. Town/nation/allies broadcast routes exist, but attached items go to one address only. Review destination and postage before sending.

Postage is indexed and removed from circulation. Each destination occupies a pigeon for outward and return travel, rather than destroying it. Ordinary tiers may refuse inaccessible cross-dimension routes. Failed delivery returns the letter/cargo home. Check the endpoint and bird availability when a letter cannot be sent.
