Direct trade, deliveries and escrow

Meet at a Trade Post, review both offers and agree only when they are right. Check deliveries afterward for received or returned items.

Visual overview

An agreed two-sided exchange. Explanatory diagram; complete rules follow.

Diagram of reported mechanics. The text retains the full conditions and settings.

Complete a direct trade

  1. Meet the other player at the same Trade Post and invite them.
  2. Each player adds offered items and wallet money, then agrees.
  3. Review every edit: a change clears both agreements. Final acceptance is briefly delayed after the last edit.
  4. Accept the final offers. Both sides complete together; collect received items from deliveries.

Trade money received counts as earnings and can trigger withholding. Item completion uses each recipient’s delivery vault rather than requiring all stacks to fit directly into inventory. Check both wallet and deliveries before concluding something is missing.

Cancel or recover an interrupted trade

Cancellation, walking away, logout or restart returns held items to the original owners’ deliveries. They do not need to be dropped at the Trade Post. The normal vault limit is 54 stacks; refunds can exceed it. Collect with sufficient inventory space.

Civic service blocks normally expose server records. They are not ordinary chests containing all escrow. Breaking a board, desk or post does not promise a spill of all held items.

Understand issued item identities

ItemWhat it points to
Sealed ParcelJob, serial, destination and worker credentials; real cargo remains in custody
Zone MarkerJob-owned zone tool with owner component and restricted world actions
Return BagSaved bag record tied to owner/job; use rechecks identity
Letter/cageRecorded mail, attachments and receiving endpoint state

These acquisition flows are separate from crafting. Custody also covers construction/extraction recovery, project deposits, prison evidence and mail returns.

Recovery limits

Inventory crossings are journaled and reconciled with player save stamps. Historical crash testing found and mitigated a nearby container-save lag problem; distant unsaved loaded containers and separately saved dropped-item entities remain recorded limits. This is not a universal no-duplication guarantee.

If records disagree after a restart, retain the affected copied world and exact actions for the administrator. Backups must preserve the complete world, player/chunk saves and Civic data together. See commands, storage and recovery; this wiki performed no new crash test.

Admin & server owner reference

Exact identifiers, original fields and source locators are preserved below. These records describe the documented mod version; they are not commands to run or proof of a new gameplay test.
