WaterMedia versions and compatibility
Check the Minecraft, Java and media versions your television or radio mod needs before changing files.

Use the consuming mod’s exact requirements
Before installing, check the instructions for the mod that adds your television or radio. These guides cover WaterMedia 3.0.0.23 with WaterMedia: Binaries 3.0.0.6. Both are by SrRapero720 / WaterMedia Team.
For the supplied Afterfall setup, use Minecraft Java 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.252 and Java 21. The reports did not launch the pair with Afterfall’s downloadable build, so this is the setup described in the evidence, rather than a confirmed working combination.
Declared support and its limits
The files list Fabric, Forge and NeoForge and several Minecraft versions. Those listings do not mean every combination has been tested. Follow your mod’s exact requirements instead of choosing a loader or Java version from a broad support label. The complete declarations are in the expandable reference below.
In the supplied Afterfall instructions, install the optional media pair on each player’s playback client. Its dedicated server does not require the pair. Other mods can have different installation rules.
Version 3 still has binary boundaries
WaterMedia 3 does not replace WaterMedia 2 in a mod built for the older version. This exact version-3 release also changes how mods start playback. If your game reports a missing method or fails to start, the mod using WaterMedia may need an updated build. Changing only the media JAR is not a confirmed fix.
Companion requirement
Install both files in the supplied pair. Binaries lists WaterMedia 3.0.0.22 as its minimum, but that does not promise compatibility with every newer version.
Check your computer’s support too. This companion is missing a playback archive for Windows running ARM64 Java. That is a finding from the file contents, not a launch failure reproduced by the wiki. No emulation or translation setup was tested.

Artifact and metadata
The report records watermedia-3.0.0.23.jar, 3,625,444 bytes (about 3.46 MiB), mod ID watermedia.
| Evidence | Reported declaration | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Local Afterfall context | Minecraft 1.21.1; NeoForge 21.1.252; Java 21 | Local target and release instructions, not a successful launch |
| Fabric metadata | Java >=17; client-only environment | Metadata floor and side declaration; does not lower the local Java 21 requirement |
| Packaged entrypoints | FabricBootstrap, ForgeBootstrap, NeoBootstrap | Loader bootstrap code exists |
| NeoForge metadata | javafml, loaderVersion [3,) | Declared loader constraint |
| Forge metadata | [[40,41),[43,44),[47,48),[52,53),[54,) | Literal string from report; parser behavior untested |
| Exact file’s Minecraft tags | 1.18.2, 1.19.2, 1.20.1, 1.21.1, 1.21.11, 26.1.2, 26.2 | File-level tags, not every loader/version combination |
| Exact file’s loader tags | Fabric, Forge, NeoForge | File-level tags, not tested pairings |
| Release description | Beta file label; RC wording in changelog | Reported publication labels, not stability certification |
The broader project description includes client/server support and this build contains ServerMediaPlayer. Those facts do not override Fabric’s client-only metadata or prove that every loader can run every module on a dedicated server. In the supplied Afterfall instructions, the optional pair is installed on playback clients only.
Method signatures and consumer builds
Version-2 integrations are incompatible with WaterMedia 3 according to the report’s upstream reference. In 3.0.0.23, start() and startPaused() now return boolean rather than void. A dependency compiled against the old signatures may need rebuilding even if its code ignores the returned value.
The report traced local Afterfall calls but did not rebuild its distributable JAR. Record the exact consuming mod version/hash when investigating compatibility; matching source text and a version number do not establish a working released binary.
Companion startup and platform details
The local pair uses Binaries 3.0.0.6, whose metadata requires WaterMedia >=3.0.0.22. That minimum is not a promise about arbitrary future releases. WaterMedia’s static module list directly constructs the companion class, so the main Fabric metadata’s dependency omission must not be treated as proof that a companion-free startup is supported.
For platform-specific readiness, OS and JVM architecture both matter. In particular, the companion report identifies an absent Windows ARM64 FFmpeg resource. This is a static mismatch, with no reproduced launch failure. No emulation, translation, 32-bit support, codec throughput or hardware acceleration was verified.
