Persistence, compatibility and evidence limits

Separate revision snapshots and catalog validation from historical tests, approximation limits and unverified pack compatibility.

Brewhaven 1.4.0Java 1.21.1NeoForge

This wiki documents Brewhaven 1.4.0 defaults. Its PDF is a static report with separately identified historical captures and author-recorded tests. Resource checks performed for this wiki do not replace a survival, multiplayer or installed-server test.

Compatibility boundaries

  • JEI/EMI are optional, with historical evidence at the pinned local builds. Later/current viewer compatibility is unverified.
  • Claim-protection adapters are not included in the reported scope. Ownership and event checks do not establish compatibility with a specific protection mod.
  • No Afterfall or Civic Frontier bridge is established by these sources. Their presence in a modpack is not integration evidence.
  • Old dream chunks can retain pre-1.4.0 cloud stripes; the report’s newer terrain presentation does not regenerate them automatically.
  • Brewery conversion is current functionality, with specific omissions and unrun migration checks.

Effect approximations

EffectAuthor-declared limitation
Careful HandsPer-tick tool-damage comparison may miss wear plus a hand swap in the same tick
Patient AnglerReflection changes the first fishing wait; API/other-mod interactions need runtime testing
Gentle ShepherdInfers following from a running temptation goal and nearby food holder; at most eight animals

The effect catalog — discovery spoilers retains shipped descriptions and report implementation notes. A located behavior slug or empty event-driven Behavior is not a proof of every numeric branch.

Admin & server owner reference

Exact identifiers, original fields and source locators are preserved below. These records describe the documented mod version; they are not commands to run or proof of a new gameplay test.

Persistent state and reloads

BrewData carries recipe/revision, stage, quality, batch/portion, creator, container, pass count, sealing, six penalties and six measurements. Finished servings omit per-portion identity so equal servings can stack. Keg stock has a separate item component. PlayerBrewData stores Journal progress, condition, online timers, locks and effect runtime state.

World-saved recipe snapshots let existing drinks resolve their historical recipe/effect revision after datapack changes. The catalog reload listener validates drinks and effects as a unit; invalid replacements retain the previous catalog and record errors. JSON changes cannot create arbitrary Java behaviors or item classes: outputs and behaviors must already resolve.

Historical evidence

PLAN.md records resource audits, a full build, dedicated development-server boot and client captures. Required GameTest totals grew 70 → 73 → 79 → 80 → 86 → 88 by rev 5. These are author-reported prior results. Historical Collection images showing 190 drinks predate the current 196-resource set.

The PDF review ran read-only inventory, parsing/count reconciliation, resource-to-JAR comparison, cross-reference checks and PDF layout inspection. It ran no new Gradle build, GameTests, Minecraft launch, commands or import. This wiki also ran no Minecraft/Gradle/operator operations.

Remaining validation

Still unverified: a Mac survival brewing playthrough, two real multiplayer clients, the planned 100-machine/20-player load test, broader mod compatibility and an installed standalone server/import path. The Half-Moon Flagon permission concern is source-level, not a runtime-observed exploit.

Useful focused checks are a full Wheatbeer batch with container counts, measured penalty cases, locks across relog/death, owner-only tools/hoppers/redstone with two clients, new-chunk dream features and phase loot, viewer visibility unlock/reset, and migration on an isolated copy. These are recommended tests, not completed evidence.

Count and scope reconciliation

The current set is 196 drinks, 130 effects, eight machine blocks, nine additional dream blocks and 17 crafting recipes. Reconstructed item registrations are 229 = 196 drinks + 8 machine items + 11 support/operator items + 14 dream items. Dream block-items overlap the fourteen; do not add them again.

Older no-movement/no-chat-corruption rules, the rejoin lock and the temporary ten-minute dream cap were superseded. Proposed dream structures, bosses, quests and currency do not become current features through those plans.
